Colonel Light Gardens is a suburb within the City of Mitcham, developed as a model garden suburb in the 1920s on land, part of which was the training camp used during the First World War.  The Colonel Light Gardens Historical Society strives to advocate for the development of Colonel Light Gardens in a manner consistent with Garden Suburb town planning principles and accepted conservation practices and promote of public interest in the history of Colonel Light Gardens.

They have published a walk of discovery brochure and home renovating guides and organised talks and walks on the history of Colonel Light Gardens as well as providing research material to individuals, groups and schools etc, particularly through their website where one can access many documents to help understand Colonel Light Gardens history and the plans which will guide its future, as well as the news relating to Colonel Light Gardens.
