The Gawler History Team shares Gawler’s history through their community heritage wiki website Now & Then Gawler.

Established in 2011, the Gawler History Team Inc. is a group interested in the sharing of Gawler’s history. Our community heritage website, originally entitled Gawler “Now & Then”, was created and maintained by the people of Gawler, South Australia and officially launched on 27 May 2012 in the Gawler Institute by Dr Bruce Eastick. A new website was then created, as “Gawlerhistory.com”, and the previous website closed down. This new website is an ongoing project to capture and digitise photographs of Gawler’s places, sites, people, organisations, groups, events etc, as well as adding appropriate historical content to each photograph; so that all is available online for people around the world.

The team is always looking for volunteers to help with contributions (locating and scanning photographs, entering content into the website etc).

Meetings are held on the first Thursday of the month, except for January, in the Zion Lutheran Hall, rear of 22b Cowan Street, Gawler.

Entry fee $5.00

Meet 1st Thursday of month – guest speakers February – November, with member Xmas show in December.
