The HSSA was founded in 1974 to promote and contribute to Australian and particularly South Australian history. It produces a peer-reviewed journal annually (in November) and a bi-monthly newsletter, and holds a year-long program of speakers at the Burnside City Uniting Church. Membership categories and costs are found on the web site.
There is no admission fee but a donation is asked for after-meeting suppers.
An evening program of specially-invited speakers is held on the first Friday of the month from February to November from 7.30 pm to which visitors are very welcome.
