• Mount Pleasant District History Room

Located in Mount Pleasant's Soldiers' Memorial Hall, the History Room contains a collection of archives and photographs relating to the previous Mount Pleasant District Council region, and includes the townships of Palmer, Tungkillo, Mount Pleasant, Springton and Eden Valley.

Mount Pleasant District History Room was officially opened by Mr Angus McLachlan on 19 November 2006, the 80th anniversary of the laying of the foundation stone of the Soldiers Memorial Hall, and is kept within the former Reading Room.

Funding to assist the preservation of the collection is from donations and grants, as well as fundraising at events.

The collection recognises the previous Mount Pleasant District Council region, and includes some detail from the townships of Palmer, Tungkillo, Mount Pleasant, Springton and Eden Valley. The Mount Pleasant District Council area is still the emphasis of the collection, although the township of Mount Pleasant is now included in the Barossa Council. The collection has been reviewed and stored in archive quality folders and boxes, and a large collection of photographs has been added to, with generous donations from people with an interest in the district and families who settled in the Mount Pleasant area.
