• Prospect Local History Group

    Operating under the auspices of the Friends of Prospect Library, the Prospect Local History Group promotes community interest in the history of the area, encouraging research and preservation as well as conducting an annual program of a range of activities.

The Prospect Local History Group operates under the auspices of the Friends of Prospect Library and has the following objectives:

  • Promote community interest in the history of the Prospect area
  • Encourage and carry out research into local history
  • Conduct a range of activities to encourage the study, collection, recording and preservation of history in the Prospect area
  • Advocate for the preservation of history and heritage in the Prospect area
  • Publish books, DVDs etc. about the history of the Prospect area
  • Participate in local community events eg Prospect Fair
  • Offer activities through the annual History Festival

The Prospect Local History Group meets at 7pm on the first Thursday of each month with the exception of January and December.

Meetings are held in the Nailsworth Community Hall, D’Erlanger Avenue, Collinswood. New members and casual visitors are most welcome.
