The Quorn & District Local History Group is a local community group who maintain the archives and local history display in the former Courthouse opposite the railway station.
The courthouse reopened for visitors after some time in abeyance on 28 April 2018.On view are photographs of local streetscapes and items of local significance including a local serviceman’s uniform as well as a reference collection of books on Family History, Local History, Churches, Railways, Agriculture and Hotels; and archives including Cemetery records, local schools, hospital, railways etc.
Part of the State Heritage Register since 1984, the single storey courthouse of sandstone with a corrugated galvanized iron room was completed in 1882-3 consisting of a courthouse, magistrate’s room and out offices. Electricity was first installed in the building in 1925.
