• Riverton Local History Family Research & Information Centre

    The Riverton Local History Family Research & Information Centre is housed in the original English, Scottish and Australian Bank and residence, dating from 1879.  It has been the Information Centre since 1997 and is sponsored by the Clare & Gilbert Valleys Council.  

The Riverton Local History Family Research & Information Centre is across the road from the Scholz Park Museum and is housed in the original English, Scottish and Australian Bank and residence, dating from 1879.  It has been the Information Centre since 1997 and is sponsored by the Clare & Gilbert Valleys Council.

The centre is a repository for all old local history documents including district histories, files, school registers, published local family histories, local family trees, minute books, council assessment registers, old newspapers, certificates for local births, deaths and marriages as well as all South Australian BDM on microfiche, district cemetery records.

It also has local history information for tourists including maps, booklets and brochures for the local heritage walk (featuring 39 buildings), cycling trails, caravan park and the Scholz Park Museum (across the road).
