    Preserves, collects, catalogues and presents all such archival material including particularly relevant performances and recordings by South Australian musicians in South Australia and elsewhere in the world.

Established in 2003, the South Australian Jazz Archive (SAJA) is based upstairs in the Scots Church Administration Centre on the corner of North Terrace and Pulteney Street, Adelaide.

The SA Jazz Archive aims to compile and maintain a directory of South Australian jazz archival material pertaining to the origin and development of the various styles of jazz, swing, and ‘hot’ dance music in South Australia to the present day.

The SA Jazz Archive collects jazz records, cassettes, CDs, DVDs, sheet music, posters, programs, photos and memorabilia; records the history of jazz in this State and beyond and celebrates local jazz musicians in concert and produces CDs, DVDs, film clips. SAJA has a comprehensive jazz library and publishes a quarterly magazine ‘Back Beat’. It also holds special exhibitions with live jazz performance.
