• Tailem Bend Railway Museum

The museum, along with the Visitor Information Centre, is located in the original Tailem Bend Railway Station dating from 1913, and displays rail memorabilia and the original working signal box.

In the 19th Century Tailem Bend was an important railway town, it was a hub for train passengers and railway lifestyle. Tailem Bend’s most iconic building and strongest representation of railway history is the railway station.

Officially opened in 2005, the museum, along with the Visitor Information Outlet, is located in the original Tailem Bend Railway Station dating from 1913 and celebrated its centenary in October 2013.

Run by passionate volunteers, who are happy to provide you with tourism information and take you through the museum which showcases many well-loved historical relics from the town’s historic railway past and the original working signal box. The Tailem Info Station also offers hand-crafted souvenirs, merchandise, and local produce.

In 2021 a dedicated history room within the Tailem Info Station was opened to showcase Tailem Bend’s unique story and help preserve the town’s history into the future. The room is curated by the Tailem Bend Historians and the display is changed regularly.
