The Lameroo & District Historical Society is based at a former bank building where their archives are stored but also cares for a museum, historic railway station, Byrne Cottage and the Pine Grove Machinery display as well as the SA Dry interpretive trail.

The Lameroo & District Historical Society has their base at the former bank building in the main street of Lameroo which also houses their archives.

Formed in 1978, the society aims to collect, preserve and display local items through their archives, museum, railway station, Byrne Cottage and the Pine Grove Machinery display; as well as the SA Dry interpretive trail. The latter was set up by the society funded by grants from the History Trust and the Centenary of Federation in 2001 to remind people of the importance of water and its availability which led to the establishment of the railway and the town and the continuing prosperity of the area. It is part of Lameroo Heritage Walk Two.

The group meets five times a year and is supported by the Southern Mallee Council.
